diabetes

Hyperlipidemia is a major risk factor for cardiovascular complications in people with diabetes. To evaluate the ability of tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) to reduce high lipid levels, a study was conducted. Ayurvedic physicians commonly use Curcuma longa (Zingiberaceae) to treat diabetes. Curcumin, a biologically active compound found in the rhizome of Curcuma longa, has been scientifically proven to have high antioxidant activity and anticancer properties, as well as antidiabetic effects. THC, a colorless metabolite of curcumin, has been found to possess the same physiological and pharmacological properties as curcumin.
