BMI

The capacity to maintain a stable base of support with the least amount of movement is called balance. There are two types of balance in the human body: static and dynamic. Body mass index (BMI) is a major factor in maintaining balance in normal healthy individuals. For a study, 127 participants (105 females and 22 males) between the age group of 18 to 29 years volunteered. The Normal BMI Group comprised 70 participants, while the Overweight BMI Group consisted of 57 participants. The findings of the study revealed a significant difference in static balance between subjects with normal and overweight BMIs.
